Sandpoint Beach Park Master Plan and Shoreline Class Environmental Assessment

The City of Windsor has completed a Park Master Plan for Sandpoint Beach, which incorporates public feedback and expert insights to provide a comprehensive vision for enhancing this unique waterfront space. The Park Master Plan sets the stage for transforming the park into a safe, vibrant, and inclusive space.

The Park Master Plan was endorsed by City Council on January 27, 2025, and is subject to funding and approvals. The Sandpoint Beach Park Master Plan report is available below.

A Class Environmental Assessment was completed for the shoreline protection and erosion control measures as part of the Park Master Plan. The assessment evaluated potential shoreline improvements to ensure it continues to meet the community’s needs while addressing environmental and recreational considerations. The preferred solution aims to improve shoreline conditions while considering park functionality improvements, expanded recreational opportunities, accessibility, and sustainability. The cost estimates in the environmental assessment report cover shoreline protection and erosion control, not the relocation of the beach. Moving the beach would require additional work outlined in the Master Plan to ensure it remains a safe functional and recreational space.
