Pathway to Potential (P2P) hosted a series of webinars during 2021 on various topics related to social investment in the Windsor-Essex community.
November 2021

National Housing Day is recognized in Canada each year in November. The current local housing market has highlighted the importance of affordable, accessible, and stable housing in our communities.
Pathway to Potential held a Lunch & Learn to mark National Housing Day and present information about the important work our community partners have been doing to improve housing stability and successful tenancies in Windsor-Essex.
Teresa Falsetta Aflak, with Pathway to Potential, was joined by Dolor Torres, Job Developer/Industry Placement Specialist with WEST Inc., to present information on the RentSmart education program. We were also joined by Elise Bosson, Co-Director from CommUnity Partnership (CUP), who shared information on the Safe at Home eviction prevention program.

Pathway to Potential hosted a Lunch & Learn session on the Affordable Pass Program (APP) available for eligible Windsor-Essex residents living with low income.
We were joined by Rachaelle Duval from Transit Windsor, who shared information about the program, including eligibility and application requirements.

Vulnerable and marginalized populations in our communities have faced disproportionate impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Windsor Essex Local Immigration Partnership (WE LIP), WE Value Partnership, and Pathway to Potential hosted a Lunch & Learn about the impacts of the pandemic on Newcomers to Canada. Evolving research on these impacts, and the responses implemented to address them, were presented.

Pathway to Potential hosted a Lunch & Learn webinar on the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) services available to Windsor-Essex residents with low-modest incomes.
We were joined by CVITP volunteer Daniela Pastorius, Judy Lund with Family Services Windsor-Essex, and Katie Ouellette, with the South Essex Community Council. They presented information on the volunteer income tax program and local organizations that offer free income tax clinics.
January 2021

The purpose of the program is to provide temporary relief for city of Windsor property owners (single-family homes) who may qualify for property tax relief due to extreme poverty or sickness. For more information, please visit the Tax Rebates and Relief web page.
We were joined by Codie Bouliane and Carolyn Nelson from the City of Windsor Taxation Department who presented and answered questions about the program.
