Dog Licences

New for 2024

At the most recent budget deliberations, the Mayor and Council decided to waive dog licence fees for those who own a dog that is spayed/neutered and microchipped. You are still required to register your dog with the City and must provide proof of spay/neuter and microchipping at the time of application to have your fee waived.

If you have already purchased your 2024 dog licence for your spayed or neutered dog, you must provide the Licensing Division with proof of microchipping so that a refund can be processed. The Licensing Division will require the following from you:

  • Proof of microchipping
  • Place of dog licence purchase
  • Dog owner’s complete address
  • Dog owner’s name
  • Dog’s name

Proof of microchipping and all other documentation can be provided to the Licensing Division at by email, by mail or in person. Your refund will be processed and mailed out to you once all information has been verified by a licensing representative.
