Get Ready for Umo: A New Way to Pay
A more convenient way to ride is coming soon to Transit Windsor. Umo (pronounced “you-mo”) is a modern digital fare management system designed to make paying for transit faster, smarter, and more flexible for riders.
This all-in-one system will give you greater control and convenience every time you ride. Stay tuned for updates, helpful tips, and everything you need to know to get ready for a smooth and successful transition to Umo!
What is Umo?
Umo is an all-in-one digital fare management system coming soon to Transit Windsor. It will replace current smart card passes, making it easier to pay, ride, and manage your transit account, all from your phone or reloadable Umo card.
When Can I Start Using Umo?
While a formal launch date has not yet been confirmed, we will continue to share information and resources to help riders prepare for the transition.
A pilot program is currently underway with university students, giving us the opportunity to refine the system and ensure a smooth rollout experience for the broader community.
Transit Windsor will provide advance notice as soon as a date is confirmed. Follow our social media channels for updates, tips, and guidance so you’re ready to start using Umo when it launches.
Ways to Pay with Umo
Once Umo launches, you’ll have a variety of payment options to choose from, allowing you to select what works best for you, including:
Umo Mobility App:
- Download the free app through the Canadian Apple Store or Google Play.
- Buy, manage, and scan your fare right from your phone.
- You can use it even without mobile data once logged in.
- QR code can be scanned on the bus validator.
Umo Card:
- Tap and ride (no smartphone required).
- Initial card: $6.00
- Replacement card: $10.00.
Cash:
- Exact cash fare will still be accepted on all buses.
