Early Learning Professionals

Early Learning Professionals, employed in a variety of settings in Child Care, (centre based, school based or licensed home care); as well as EarlyON Child and Family Centres or agencies that support the growth and development of children are essential to quality early years experiences.

Early Learning Professionals set the stage for play-based child-led learning, providing socio-emotional and physical support, working with others to develop individualized program plans and engaging in reflective practices that ensure a better relationship with children, families, colleagues and community members. Early Learning Professionals work in partnership with parents and caregivers to help children reach their full potential.

As a Registered Early Childhood Educator (ECE), there is an expectation with the College of Early Childhood Educators to participate in and to maintain a professional development portfolio. The City of Windsor, as the Consolidated Municipal Service Manager (CMSM) is committed to providing opportunities for continuous professional learning and development for all Early Learning Professionals.
