Superior Park

The original property for Superior Park was acquired by Sandwich West Township and named after Superior Street. It was expanded in separate transactions throughout the early 1970s. In 1973, a land exchange with South Windsor Development Company Ltd. saw the City acquire the first piece of the three-piece Superior Park puzzle. In 1975 and 1976, the puzzle was completed when the City acquired two vacant adjoining properties. In later years, the portion of the park on the south side of Totten Street was sold to the separate school board, and the remaining portion on the north side of Totten Street was redeveloped to its current state with pathways, gazebo, updated play equipment and additional sports fields.
