School Camp Program at the Chimczuk Museum

Museum Windsor plays a key role in many events, projects, initiatives and celebrations in Windsor's culture and heritage community. We actively engage in finding unique ways to help the community tell its stories. 

Museum Volunteer Group Meeting

Join the Museum Volunteer Group at 1:00 p.m. on November 8th for our monthly speaker series. This month, Canadian Author/Historian and former Windsorite, Paul Langan, will be providing a talk entitled "Forgotten Windsor Music Legends." The talk will include information about the careers of The Chantones, The Brothers-in-Law, Dorothy Collins, and Dolores Carroll with images and audio recordings. Mr. Langan will have copies of his books for sale at the event. No pre-registration required, regular admission rates apply.

Free Admission – Remembrance Day

Museum Windsor will mark Remembrance Day on Tuesday, November 11th, with a special program that includes:

  • Free admission at the Chimczuk Museum & Art Windsor-Essex on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Opening of the new “Remembering the Brave: Indigenous Veterans Through History” exhibit. This small display focuses on the contributions of local Indigenous Veterans during times of conflict.
  • Opening of the temporary display created by Western University students: “Windsor's First World War in 13 Objects” featuring photographic reproductions from the Ley and Lois Smith Collection in the History Department at Western University.
  • Staff-guided free tour of Dieppe Gardens military monuments at 2:00 p.m. Registration is not required, and guests are asked to gather in the lobby of the Chimczuk Museum for the 2:00 p.m. start time.
  • Poppy-themed crafts will be available in the Hands-On-History Gallery.

Free Admission – A River Runs Between Us Exhibition & Book Launch

Join us for the launch of a new exhibition entitled A River Runs Between Us - The Unique Shared History of Detroit and Windsor. Designed by Guest Curator Chris Edwards, this exhibition explores the unparalleled bond that exists between Windsor & Detroit as seen through centuries of cooperation, conflict, commerce, and culture. 

In addition to the exhibition, Walkerville Publishing will be hosting a special book launch for a new publication of the same name: A River Runs Between Us - The Unique Shared History of Detroit and Windsor. The book launch will take place at 1:00 p.m. and include a talk by the authors. Books will be available for purchase at the event.

Animal Mini-Figure (Lego) Scavenger Hunt

Location: François Baby House, 254 Pitt Street West

Animal Lego friends are visiting the François Baby House. Can you find them and the artifacts they are discovering? Small prize for those adventurers who finish the hunt! Free event, open to the public.
