Prior to Obtaining a new Taxicab Driver Licence
The applicant is required to register for, attend and complete the Taxicab, Limousine & Paratransit Association (TLPA) Taxicab Driver Education Program prior to applying for a licence.

Applicant Requirements:
- Application - Taxicab Driver Licence
- Certificate of Completion - Taxicab Course & Testing
- Current Class "G" Ontario Driver Licence
- Proof of Canadian Citizenship, Landed Immigrant Status or government issued Work Permit
- Current passport-sized colour photograph of applicant (New Only)
- Original Police Records Check - Vulnerable Sector Check dated no more than 30 days prior to date of application in first instance, 365 days for renewals
- Copy of Driver's Abstract (3 Year Driver Record Search that is Issued by Ontario Ministry of Transportation Safety and Regulations Division) dated no more than 30 days prior to date of application
- Photo ID card will be issued (renewed every 2 years)

- Drivers' Waiting List Application
- To apply for the Driver's Waiting List, an applicant must be a Taxicab Driver with a minimum of one year full-time employment (letter from employer required)
- Must be renewed yearly
