St. Rose Stormwater Pumping Station

The City of Windsor has finalized the Environmental Study Report (ESR) for the proposed St. Rose Stormwater Pumping Station in accordance with the Schedule 'C' Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Phase 4 process. The infrastructure, when fully implemented, will conclude the Class EA Phase 5 process and will increase the resiliency to flooding in this area and positively impact the community by protecting property, including municipal infrastructure, local transportation networks, and residential properties.

The recommended layout from the ESR features the new stormwater pumping station situated almost entirely below grade and centralized within the western portion of the park site. The facility will include an above-grade electrical building and emergency back-up generator situated in the south-west corner of the park site to maintain the openness of the site. The generator will include an architectural enclosure for both sound mitigation and aesthetics to blend the facility with the existing residential features of the area.

The project is currently in the detailed design phase and is scheduled to commence construction in Summer 2024.
