Kids exploring fur samples

Experience fun and excitement for children of all ages at the Chimczuk Museum and François Baby House. Permanent exhibits chronicle Windsor’s history from prehistoric times to the present, and temporary exhibits offer unique perspectives on a wide range of topics.

Programming highlights include the following:

  • Curriculum based educational programming that features interactive and inquiry based activities.
  • The Original People’s Culture and Legacy Gallery featuring Indigenous history and artefacts.
  • A Children’s Gallery filled with interactive games, crafts, and activities.
  • Windsor’s French Roots exhibit highlighting the rich French history of the Windsor area.

  • Custom educational programs that meet your classroom’s needs.

Get to Know Your Museum Tours

The Get to Know Your Museum Tours are currently being offered, giving students the opportunity to explore the brand new exhibits at two Museum Windsor locations:

  • The Chimczuk Museum, 401 Riverside Drive West.
  • The Maison François Baby House, 254 Pitt Street West

Local French History and Indigenous Programs

Explore exhibits featured at the historic François Baby House and Original Peoples Culture & Legacy Gallery, and participate in programming that highlights local French and Indigenous traditions and history.

Windsor Walking Tours

Museum Windsor offers a variety of walking tours designed for students. Topics covered include local French history, neighborhood explorations of Sandwich/Walkerville/Ford City, and sculpture park tours of Windsor's riverfront, to name a few.

Memories - Offsite Programs for Seniors

Senior programming utilizes artifacts and photographs from the museum's collection to help connect seniors to the past. These highly interactive programs aim to engage seniors though nostalgia and involve museum staff bringing all required material directly to the senior centre or retirement home.

Tours are available in both English and French and cost only $5.50/student (minimum 15 students).


New: Virtual Programming Available!

Bring Museum Windsor into the classroom, retirement home, daycare centre, workplace, corporate event, or home. All programs are curriculum based, adjusted to grade/age level, and led by a museum staff member. Each program runs for 1 hour in length and cost a flat rate of $50.00 (up to 30 students/people) per session if conducted during Museum Windsor’s regular program operating hours (Tuesday to Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). After-hours programming available at an additional cost of $65.60.

Tours available in both English and French and are organized through Zoom, Microsoft TEAMS, or Google Meet. (Other methods may be possible upon request.)
