City of Windsor Annual Birthday Celebration

Girl celebrating at Windsor's Annual Birthday Celebration

Each year, we celebrate the City of Windsor's birthday with a Mayor's Walk along the riverfront and a birthday party. This is an opportunity to join in some free family fun and celebrate Windsor alongside citizens from all across the city.

Windsor's 127th Birthday Celebration in 2019

The City of Windsor marks its 127th anniversary of incorporation in 2019, and everyone is invited to celebrate at a free community event packed with fun for the entire family. Annual Mayor’s Walk

10:00 a.m. at Ambassador Park on the Waterfront

  • Gather shortly before 10:00 a.m. at Ambassador Park on the waterfront to warm up with Parks, Recreation & Culture, and Facilities staff. Mayor Drew Dilkens, members of City Council and special guests will be on hand for the event kick-off, and representatives of the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County will be there too handing out country flags representing the homelands of many cultures and heritages that make Windsor such a multicultural and diverse place to live.
  • The Mayor’s Walk will once again proceed along the waterfront from Ambassador Park to Dieppe Gardens. We will pause at the base of the Great Canadian Flag for the singing of our national anthem and then continue back through Dieppe Gardens toward the Vision Corridor adjacent to Adventure Bay and the Chimczuk Museum.

Windsor 127 Birthday Celebration

Begins at the Vision Corridor (401 Riverside Drive West) at 11:00 a.m.

  • Mayor Drew Dilkens will welcome the community to the annual birthday party at the Vision Corridor just outside Adventure Bay and the Chimczuk Museum. The party will include free birthday hot dogs and cupcakes (while supplies last); entertainment on the ShowMobile outdoor stage; activities; crafts; face-painting; games; and displays in and around the park. Enjoy 2-for-1 admission to Adventure Bay Family Water Park Presented by WFCU Credit Union and free admission to the Chimczuk Museum, all in celebration of Windsor’s Birthday and International Museum Day.
