Spay/Neuter Voucher Program for Cats
2020 Voucher Program
Spaying and neutering pets to prevent unwanted pregnancies is the very foundation of effective animal control and The City of Windsor is pleased to once again offer its Spay/Neuter Voucher Program for cats. The program will be returning in 2020 and vouchers will be available by calling 311 on March 3rd at 10:00 AM. Residents are encouraged to call 311 as close to the release time as possible as a limited number of vouchers exist.
Vouchers for owned cats are reserved for low-income families. A declaration of income is required. A maximum of 2 vouchers per household will be issued where the cats are owned. For feral cat caregivers, a maximum of 2 vouchers per household will be issued with no income restrictions. In both cases, the applicant must be over the age of 18.
Vouchers are non-transferrable and will expire 90 days after issue. They may be redeemed at any participating veterinary clinic (list to be provided upon successful application). Recipients must call and book appointments for spay/neuter services in advance.
In an effort to reduce the number of homeless cats and number of cats euthanized in the city, 260 vouchers were issued to sterilize cats in 2019.
For general information, please call 311. For detailed inquiries, call Katherine Donaldson at 519-255-6100 ext. 6533.
