Under the Municipal Elections Act, the four-year term of office for the newly elected Council and School Board Trustees begins December 1, 2018 and ends November 14, 2022.

Changes to the Municipal Elections Act
Bill 181, The Municipal Elections Modernization Act, 2016, came into effect June 9, 2016 and makes changes to the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 for the 2018 municipal election.
