Job Summary:
The landscape labourer is responsible for working as a team member under the direct supervision of the Crew Lead and/or General Foreman. Maintain a positive and motivating work environment; at the shop and job site. Efficiently complete all landscape tasks according to plan, with the focus of quality and production.
Job Duties:
Load and unload material necessary for required job
Has ability and knowledge to properly plant, transplant, remove, trim, and prune trees, shrubs, and other plants
Trim and prune trees and shrubs using handsaw, hand pruner, pole pruner, pole saw, and have the certification to operate an aerial lift truck or rope and saddle as an alternative if necessary
Keep detailed daily logs and records
Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
Maintain property cleanliness – refer to job site expectation sheet
Perform other tasks or projects as assigned/instructed by your Foreman and report back to Foreman
Assess clients’ properties each visit and report and/or treat any special conditions
Other possible landscaping actions consist of spreading mulch or topsoil, raking/watering lawns/plants, and other landscape installations
Until trained/certified – will refrain from using any motorized equipment
Vehicles, chainsaw, various lawn mowers
Will be using handheld non-motorized tools
Must report all repairs and maintenance needs on any equipment utilized in landscaping to the Foreman using company provided software
Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in landscaping
Keep accurate timesheet records, submitted for review and signoff by the required deadlines
Attend training classes and seminars as discussed by management to support continuous improvement and knowledge
Ensure all health and safety policies and procedures are complied with
Ensure all training courses are current and up to date – if you have concern or questions, please bring to managers attention to be assigned as necessary
Work as part of a team and take direction
Maintain inside vehicle cleanliness daily
