Volunteers Wanted as Need for Snow Angels Remains High

It’s time to sign up and become a Snow Angel!

Each year, the Windsor Snow Angels program matches volunteer snow shovellers from the community with seniors and persons with physical disabilities in need.

This year, as in other years, the need is high, says Executive Director of Human Resources Dana Paladino: “We have hundreds of requests for help already. It’s such an important service, as snow removal can pose significant challenges to those with limited mobility and snow build up can make it harder for service providers like police and fire, mail carriers, and meter readers to do their jobs safely and efficiently.”

Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Don’t forget, it’s a great way for high school students to round out their 40-hour community involvement requirement.

As an added incentive again this year, all registered volunteers will be entered into a draw to win a tablet or one of two $50 Rec Express Cards.

Please check the Snow Angels web page or contact 311 for more information or to register.
