Bridge Construction set to start in Teedie Park

Teedie Park users will soon have a new multi-use bridge for crossing the Little River municipal drain.

Construction of the new pedestrian crossing between park land in Wards 7 and 8 will begin on February 1, 2021, and is expected to be completed in May, weather permitting.  The east-end park will be closed during construction to ensure work crews are able to work as safely and quickly as possible.

When complete, the new 35-metre bridge crossing will connect the two existing trails on either side of Little River.

"I am very excited for the new bridge construction in Teedie Park to begin," said Ward 7 Councillor Jeewen Gill. "This bridge is going to be a great new addition to provide residents with a connection between two trails which will serve as a great asset in leisure and healthy attractive developments in our area.”

Ward 8 Councillor Gary Kaschak said the construction of a new multi-use bridge is “fantastic news for the East Windsor Community and trail system.”

“This will ensure our residents have improved walkability and access by making connectivity to the many trails and parks in this area so much easier,” continued Councillor Kaschak. “Great collaboration from all levels of Government for this terrific neighbourhood upgrade and improvement.”

The project received positive feedback during public consultation and is now ready to go.
