Sidewalk Cafe Handbook

On February 21, 2005 Windsor City Council adopted the Sidewalk Cafe Handbook, which is one of the 35 activities outlined in WindsorSEEN.

On April 11, 2011 as per Council Resolution 133/2011, the Sidewalk Cafe Handbook was revised.

The handbook features a clear outline of the application procedure; licence terms; sidewalk cafe design principles and elements; layout; maintenance; and enforcement. Key improvements to the design standards include layout, enclosure design, public safety, civic image, implementation, and terms of licence. The Sidewalk Cafe Handbook plays an important role in elevating Windsor's civic image with a consistent design approach to sidewalk cafes.

The handbook is effective immediately and will affect all new sidewalk cafe applicants and licences that are due for renewal.
