Construction Upgrade Programs

Signal upgrades will be achieved through various road reconstruction projects each year.

A controller and communications system upgrade project is underway to convert the Model 170 controller to the 2070 controller with the D4 firmware package. Communications to the 2070 controller are being upgraded to Ethernet speeds via fibre optic cable.

Video detection cameras have been implemented on Tecumseh Road, Dougall/Ouellette Avenue, Lauzon Parkway, Howard Avenue, Walker Road and Wyandotte Street with further expansion to be undertaken in 2019.

Expansion of the fibre optic network occurs annually.
