Why Open Streets Windsor needs Community Partners

Open Streets Windsor is more than providing a space for people to walk, cycle, roller blade, etc. It is about engaging the community!

The Open Streets Windsor route includes eight designated activity hubs. The hubs are designated for individuals, businesses and organizations to animate the spaces with community-led, interactive activities - things like exercise, street games, obstacle courses, neighbourhood tours, dance classes, samples, musical performances, art installations and more. The possibilities are endless and that’s where you come in!

Be a part of something amazing!

Open Streets is the largest free recreation program in the city's history. With an average 10,000 people participating annually in Open Streets Windsor, it is a great way to introduce your organization or brand to a large and diverse audience in a fun setting!

Activities must be free and encourage the greatest possible participation from people of all ages and abilities.

What supporting activities can I provide?

Open Street activities must:

  • Be free
  • Focus on health, physical activity, arts or culture
  • Be participatory
  • Be feasible
  • Be able to engage large audiences
  • Be accessible for people of all ages and abilities
  • Be pop-up in nature - quickly and easily set up and taken down by you
  • Be self contained - minimal or no need for a power supply, etc.
  • Not involve alcohol, horses or inflatables (e.g. bouncing castle)
